Labiaplasty is a form of vulval surgery used to reduce or reshape labial tissue. The procedure most often focuses on the labia minora, which are the inner folds of tissue surrounding the vaginal opening. In some cases, concerns also involve the labia majora, which are the outer folds, or excess tissue around the clitoral hood.
The size, colour, shape and symmetry of the labia vary considerably between individuals. Prominent or uneven labia are usually a normal anatomical variation and do not necessarily require treatment.
