A chemical peel is a skin-resurfacing procedure. The concept behind chemical peels is simple yet effective. A chemical solution is applied to the skin, which causes the top layer to peel off. This process stimulates the growth of new skin cells, revealing a smoother and more youthful complexion.
When skin grows back after a chemical peel, it triggers the production of collagen and elastin. This can help make your skin supple and strong, reducing the appearance of wrinkles.
The new skin that grows back is also smoother, which helps decrease roughness.
One of the key advantages of chemical peels is their ability to target specific concerns such as wrinkles and signs of aging. By removing dead skin cells and stimulating collagen production, these peels can help diminish fine lines and improve overall skin texture.
In addition to their anti-aging properties, chemical peels can also address other common skincare concerns such as acne scars, sun damage, and uneven pigmentation. This versatility makes them a popular choice among individuals looking to rejuvenate their overall skin.
There are 3 depths of treatments you can choose Depending on the issues you’re addressing.

Light chemical peel

A light chemical peel removes the top layer of skin (epidermis). It’s used to treat fine wrinkles, acne, uneven skin tone and dryness. You might have a light peel every two to five weeks.

Medium chemical peel

A medium chemical peel removes skin cells from the epidermis and from portions of the upper part of your middle layer of skin (dermis). This depth is used to treat wrinkles, acne scars and uneven skin tone. You might need to repeat the procedure to achieve or maintain the desired result.

Deep chemical peel

A deep chemical peel removes skin cells even deeper for tougher wrinkles or scars. You won’t need repeat procedures to get the full effect.

What the Treatment Involves

Your skin will be cleansed to remove any oils or dirt on the skin's surface. Your eyes will be covered and hair protected. A chemical solution will be applied to your skin. Chemical solutions typically used include glycolic acid, trichloroacetic acid, salicylic acid, lactic acid or carbolic acid (phenol). The solution will be made up Depending on what depth treatment you have decided for your skin. The solution will penetrate through to your chosen skin depth, peeling away to reveal a new layer of skin. During the treatment you may feel a warm or hot sensation that will last a few minutes. This is followed by a stinging sensation. To relieve the sting sensation a cool compress may be applied to your skin. The chemical is then washed off. Aftercare will be advised by your surgeon as this will heavily depend on the depth of treatment you have had. The deep Peel treatment will require a longer recovery time and precautions will also be needed. If you require any more information, feel free to contact our team.
