Skin Lesion Removal in Surrey

Unwanted skin lesions – whether a skin tag, a stubborn wart, a cluster of milia, a cherry angioma or a mole you’ve always wanted gone – can be safely and effectively removed at Harley Street Clinic Surrey. Based in Reigate and CQC-registered, our medically qualified team uses two clinically proven removal methods, each selected to suit the type of lesion, its location and your individual skin. Most treatments are completed in a single appointment, with minimal downtime and lasting results.

Our Skin Lesion Removal Methods

During your consultation, our practitioner will assess the lesion and recommend the most appropriate technique for safe, effective removal.

CryoPen Cryotherapy

CryoPen is a precise, pen-shaped device that delivers a controlled jet of nitrous oxide directly onto the lesion, freezing and destroying the abnormal tissue without affecting the healthy skin around it. It is fast, highly accurate and requires no anaesthetic in most cases, making it an excellent option for a wide range of superficial lesions on the face and body. At Harley Street Clinic Surrey, CryoPen is used to treat skin tags, warts, verrucas, milia, seborrhoeic keratoses, cherry angiomas and similar benign growths.

Surgical Excision

For lesions that require complete removal – including moles, larger growths and anything requiring tissue analysis – surgical excision is the gold standard approach. The lesion is carefully removed under local anaesthetic by one of our doctors and the wound closed to leave minimal scarring. Where clinically appropriate, the removed tissue can be sent for histological analysis, providing both reassurance and a clean cosmetic result.

What to Expect at Your Appointment

Every skin lesion removal begins with a consultation. One of our practitioners will assess the lesion, confirm it is suitable for treatment and recommend the most appropriate method. For moles or any lesion with unusual characteristics, a thorough clinical assessment is carried out before any treatment proceeds.

On the day of treatment the skin is cleansed and, where necessary, a topical anaesthetic cream is applied ahead of the procedure. Most appointments take between 15 and 45 minutes depending on the method and the number of lesions being treated. Full aftercare guidance is provided before you leave, and our team is available for any follow-up questions.

Why Choose Harley Street Clinic Surrey?

Frequently Asked Questions

Is skin lesion removal painful?

CryoPen produces a brief cold stinging sensation lasting only a few seconds per lesion. Surgical excision is performed under local anaesthetic, so the area is fully numb throughout. The vast majority of patients find both treatments very well tolerated.

CryoPen is specifically designed to treat the lesion without damaging surrounding tissue, leaving very little trace when performed correctly. Surgical excision results in a fine suture line which typically fades considerably over the months following treatment.

We treat benign skin lesions only. Any lesion showing signs of irregular pigmentation, unusual borders, rapid change or other clinical concern will be referred to a dermatologist for assessment before any treatment is considered.

We are a CQC-registered clinic in the heart of Reigate, serving patients across Surrey and the South East. All skin lesion removal treatments are performed by qualified medical practitioners in a fully clinical environment, using MHRA-approved equipment. We take a considered approach at every consultation, ensuring the right treatment is matched to the right patient – never a one-size-fits-all approach.
